Matthew Bachochin
Matt leads SMBP’s national subrogation team, delivering proactive, integrated subrogation services and maximum recoveries nationwide though our proprietary, web-based case management and tracking portal, CaseVision™ and extensive network of attorneys. In addition to managing the national litigation team handling lawsuits filed in various jurisdictions around the country, Matt is responsible for overseeing all intercompany arbitration matters and alternative dispute resolution forums.
Matt has extensive experience representing insurance carriers in subrogation matters and is a seasoned trial attorney having served as lead counsel in more than 30 jury trials in multiple jurisdictions and more than 400 mandatory arbitration hearings. Before joining SMBP, Matt’s practice included representing individuals and businesses on a variety of legal issues.
Matt is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, as well as in federal court in the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar. Matt is a graduate of the John Marshall Law School and Michigan State University where he earned a degree in social science. Prior to law school, Matt spent nearly nine years working in advertising and marketing, giving him a diverse business and legal background.
When he is not working, Matt enjoys Blackhawks season tickets, White Sox games, and coaching little league baseball. Matt and his wife, Robyn, are proud parents to their twin sons, Zach and Eli.
